Almond Pollen Compatibility Chart
Not all varieties are cross compatible with all other varieties, but fall into distinct groups. This table summarizes present knowledge on cross-incompatible varieties. Those within each group are considered cross-incompatible with others of the same group and cross-compatible with all varieties of other groups. Listed are seven pollen incompatible groups.

*Jeffries is a mutation of Nonpareil and should belong to the Nonpareil incompatibility group. However, field experience combined with controlled tests in 1984 and 1985 shows that Jeffries possesses unilateral incompatibility. All varieties - including the parent Nonpareil - can fertilize Jeffries. But Jeffries is unable to fertilize Nonpareil, Carmel, Solano, Monterey and all varieties in these incompatibility groups, as well as Butte. On the other hand, Jeffries can fertilize all varieties in the Mission, NePlus Ultra and Thompson groups as well as Fritz.
