Scarlet Gala The Northwest Testers Association calls this the best tasting and firmest of the Gala strains. The apple's bright scarlet finish is over an attractive yellow-orange background. The fruit is conical, with good size and is moderately resistant to sunburn. This tree is "grower friendly" with nice limb angles. |
Ultra-Red Gala (Obrogala C.V.) (PP#8621) A mutation of Royal Gala that harvests from July 15to August l. This variety exhibits exceptional large size. Ultra-Red has an intense red blush with burgundy red stripes. Fruit color holds up well thoughout the tree. |
Ginger Gold (Mt. Cove C.V.)(PP#7063) This excellent eating apple is getting rave reviews. The firmest of the summer apples Ginger Gold ripens about four weeks before Golden Delicious, making it one of the first of the“new crop”Goldens. The tree is vigorous and easy to train, forming wide limb angles and fruiting early. Flowering is mid-late and appears to need little or no pollen. The large, conical fruit resists sunburn. This tree, which has consistently received high marks from the Northwest Testers Association, has been fruiting well in California as well. Ginger Gold shows some susceptibility to fireblight. |

Honeycrisp (PP#7197) A cross between Macoun and Honeygold. This firm, moderately vigorous apple was developed at the University of Minnesota. A late, mid-season apple that harvests two weeks prior to Red Delicious. Honeycrisp has an exceptional storage life. A very winter-hardy variety that gets excellent color. |
Red Fuji (B.C.#2 Strain) Harvests 1 to 2 weeks later than Fuji. Yellowish green color with red stripe. Bears on one year wood. Vigorous. Similar to Fuji. |

Gravenstein Harvests in July. Fruit-Large, light green to yellow color with red stripes. Crisp and juicy. Keeps well. Can be used for fresh eating, but is best suited for cooking. |
