Robada (PP#9890) A new, firm freestone variety from USDA. Robada ripens approximately seven days before Patterson and features excellent color with high blush. Fruit size is generally better than Patterson. Tree canopy has average vigor with an upright growth habit. Mature fruit holds on the tree well. Robata is self-fruitful, but could be more productive with a pollenator. |
Goldensweet (PP#8932) Goldensweet may very well be the beginning of a new era in fresh market apricots. This promising apricot has good size, eating quality (15-18 brix) and firmness. This mid-late bloomer ripens about one week before Patterson. Goldensweet is a freestone and is best suited for fresh market. Its drying ratio averages 4-1/2:1 with no pit burning. The tree is self-fruitful, productive and moderately vigorous. |
Helena Formerly tested as K210-35. Helena is a USDA release. Fruit is large and firm. Flavor is sweet with moderate acid. Helena ripens with or slightly behind Katy but ahead of Patterson and Goldensweet. Skin color is yellow to orange with no blush. Helena can freckle in wet springs. |

Lorna - USDA Variety This is a very large, flavorful apricot. It ripens before Helena and after Castlebrite. Skin is somewhat delicate and care should be taken in picking/packing operations. Requires summer pruning. |
Patterson Developed by the late Fred Anderson, the Patterson was introduced by The Burchell Nursery in 1968. This popular apricot variety has strong color, firm flesh and is a consistently high producer. The versatile Patterson is suitable for canning, freezing, drying and for the fresh market. The Patterson's uniform ripening pattern makes it well suited for mechanical harvesting. And, despite its consistently high crop load, the tree resists fruit dropping. |
