Fortune
Fortune is a large plum that harvests at Friar time. This variety has a bright, attractive red color with some slight yellowing of the skin when the fruit is shaded. It is an excellent choice for growers who are looking for large red plums to complement their existing black plum varieties.


Black Splendor
This cultivar provides an early-season plum with red flesh for the fresh market. It is a USDA release that ripens the first to second week of June and one week before Santa Rosa. The oblate fruit is medium in size. The skin color is blue/black with mahogany color on the shoulders.

 

Friar - Ripens July 18-22. (USDA)
Fruit is oblate, large and firm. Skin color is dark, ebony to black when mature. Flesh is amber, mild with very small stone. Tree growth is upright and thrifty. Santa Rosa, Laroda, Blackamber are pollinators.

 


   
Santa Rosa
Ripens June 12-20. A standard of the season, both in volume and name recognition. Fruit is medium size, somewhat heart shaped and can lack firmness during high temperatures. Eating quality is very good, although the skin can have an astringent characteristic. Fruit is red skinned. Variety is self fruitful and often used as a pollinator. Spreading tree of moderate vigor.
